ISLAMABAD : Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah, who is acting vice chancellor of Zakaria University, has been appointed as the convener of the committee formed by Higher Education on the complaints of corruption and immorality in Islamia University and harassment has also been committed against him. Complaints have been in the recent past while Quaid-i-AzamAs the vice chancellor of Islamabad University, a student’s brother fired at him. According to sources, the matter was one of harassment, but the matter was suppressed. About 17 years ago, Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah disappeared mysteriously with a female student named (S) of Zakaria University. Later, he married the said woman, but this marriage lasted only a few months and Professor Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Under severe pressure from her mother-in-law, she divorced the said woman. The said woman was also given a job in the university on the pressure of Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah. As Dr Muhammad Ali Shah is the Acting Vice-Chancellor and wants to continue his Vice-Chancellorship on a permanent basis, he will be unable to take independent decisions due to direct pressure from the Higher Education Commission. Recently, during his temporary appointment at Zakaria University, he has also taken decisions contrary to the Election Commission of Pakistan and the High Court on the pressure of Rana Ayaz Umar Chaudhry and Tahir Mehmood group. The other four members of the committee include National University of Technology Rector Lt Gen (retd) Moazzam Ijaz, International University Pro-Chancellor Dr Najma Najam, Advisor HEC Dr Mazhar Saeed and Imperial College Rector Dr Tahira Aziz. The committee will give its report in 8 weeks. It is noteworthy here that when the Supreme Court of Pakistan suspended Dr. Kundi, it wrote in its decision that the seniormost professor should be given the charge of Acting Vice-Chancellor, who was Dr. Aleem Khan, but the Higher Education Commission appointed Dr. Muhammad Ali.
